The 10 authors of this book of collected stories were born in Dublin in the 30s and 40s. Most of them left school early to become telegram boys, and spent their careers in the Post Office. After retirement, a core group formed the Monday Club, which grew to welcome other retired men. Their stories, an invaluable part of our cultural heritage, tell of a past on which our society was built, they tell of poverty and hard work, of fun and family, of love and friendship.
