From Winter into Spring

 In workshops

The short days of an interminable January are now behind us, as are any resolutions we might have taken on the first day of the year.  So you didn’t walk 10,000 steps every day, didn’t take up yoga, gave up on healthy eating, and your house is no tidier than it was in December?  Welcome to 2021.  But we can still write, still dig deep in memories and stories of better or worse days.  Now that everyone is a a zoom wizzard, we can even have that cup of coffee together, albeit in different houses.

We are kicking off the year with our Introduction to Lifewriting module, in partnership with DCU AFU, on Tuesday mornings from 10 to 12.

This module will enable students to reflect on writing about life events and memories, to create timelines and start writing autobiographical stories, which will be shared with other students, and receive feedback.

Topics covered include:
Time and life stories: Use of timelines in structuring stories;
Place and life stories: Mapping your life, the importance of place in memory;
The cast of characters: The others in your story, ethical issues in life writing.

Register through DCU AFU Love of Learning Programme

We are also starting our follow-up and continuous classes and workshops.  To register, please email cathy.fowley@silverthread.ie
