A star, a star, dancing in the night
The Church was a mile away from us on a dark country road. I remember going to Midnight Mass with Daddy, Mammy and the rest of the family. We had torches. The Church had no heating and was very cold. Afterwards we walked home with our neighbours. When we got home Mammy would put on a fry and we would toast bread at the range with a long fork. We had a small table in the kitchen and Mammy and Daddy would put it in front of the fire. I don’t think anything tasted as good as that fry. My brothers, sister and I remember those special times. When I started to write this story it brought back very happy memories.
